Mandarin classes in Little Play Space cater to a wide range of ages, from preschool (as young as 4) to adults. We offer separate programmes for children, teenagers, and adults to ensure appropriate teaching methods and content.
Are there Mandarin classes for complete beginners?
Yes, most language centres and tutors offer beginner-level Mandarin classes for both children and adults. These classes usually start with basic vocabulary, pronunciation (pinyin), and simple conversation skills.
Can my child join if we don’t speak Mandarin at home?
Absolutely. We specialise in teaching Mandarin to non-native speakers and children from non-Mandarin-speaking households, using play-based and immersive methods to build confidence and interest.
Are there options for private or group lessons?
You can choose between private (one-to-one) lessons, small group classes, or even online sessions. This flexibility allows students to learn at their own pace or benefit from group interaction.
What is the typical class schedule and duration?
For preschool, is on Saturday, 2:30 to 3:30pm.
What teaching methods are used in Mandarin classes?
We use a variety of methods, including play-based learning for young children, interactive activities, storytelling, music, and technology-enhanced lessons.
Are trial lessons or assessments available before enrolling?
Yes, we offer trial lessons, allowing students and parents to experience the teaching style and environment before committing to a full course.
How do communication-focused Mandarin classes differ from traditional language classes?
Communication-focused Mandarin classes prioritise speaking and listening skills, helping students gain confidence in real-life conversations. Lessons are designed around interactive activities, role-plays, and practical scenarios to encourage active use of Mandarin in daily situations. This approach helps learners quickly develop the ability to express themselves, ask questions, and understand spoken Mandarin, rather than just memorising vocabulary or grammar rules. It’s ideal for those who want to use Mandarin in social, travel, or business contexts.
