The Adventures of Music Makers Music Camp

School holiday is around the corner! For those who have some basic knowledge of Music, please join us for this 3-Days event to make music and share your talent with each other.

Students who join this camp will spend a fun filling afternoon at The House of Hope. While the kids are making music, parents are encouraged to make contribution to this charitable organisation.

Karen Lye Pei Pei

Karen Lye Pei Pei holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Music from UCSI University and the University of Newcastle, Australia.
She earned her Master of Arts in Music Performance and Pedagogy from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
As a teacher, she hopes to share her passion for music with her students.

Little Play Space Piano Teacher - Hoe Tian

Ng Hoe Tian

Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a major in Music Pedagogy and piano, studying under Dr Jason Tye.
Believes that music education plays an important role in personal development.
His thesis focuses on a learner-based approach, encouraging students to first understand themselves and their relationship with the environment to enhance their learning ability.
Deeply inspired by renowned 20th-century Japanese music educator and philosopher, Shinichi Suzuki, whose philosophy shapes his teaching outlook.

Pavithra Rajenderan

Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a Bachelor of Music in Music Pedagogy
Passionate about teaching music to children and enjoys observing their responses to music
Finds joy and a sense of achievement in watching children learn, explore, and have fun with music
Believes in the words of American pianist Frances Clark: “There’s music in every child. The teacher’s job is to find it and nurture it.”

Event Details

AURAL

Students improve their listening and sight-singing skills through Solfege Activity.
Allow students to experience making music in glass by listening attentively to different pitch/sound produced from the water glasses through Water Tuning Activity.

MUSIC IMPROVISATION

Encourage students to experience an immediate activity of creativeness and have a spontaneous response through Improvisation Activity.
To improve students concentration skills.

MUSIC GAMES

Fun games & activities such as Ice Breaking activities and Treasure Hunt to enhance students learning.

INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC INSTRUMENT

Allow students to get involved in the Instrument Making Activity using recycled items and experience the music instruments.

PERFORMANCE

Students involve in the instrument making and explore more on the music while performing together with their peers from The House of Hope.
