Graduated both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from University of Science Malaysia(USM) in Music Pedagogy, Li Suang has always been curious about the balance between being a learner and a teacher since her earlier days in the university. She then continued to pursue her Master’s dessertation on the topic of early childhood education, specialising in the development of rhythmic abilities through their mother tongue, and Hokkien dialect was intentionally picked as a secondary focus of the research to promote the uniqueness of this dying dielect in Penang. Shortly after completed her study in USM, she passed the Kodaly Primary Level 1 teacher’s training course under the supervision of the Judy Johnson and James Cuskelly. From early childhood education, Li Suang extends her knowledge to reflective adult lifelong learning.
Music is more than it’s learning and teaching, it is an universal language that cuts across all spoken and written languages. A common ground that holds no difference status as to who is to teach and who is to learn. Li Suang is interested in helping individuals keeping their “musical light” lit and let the music vibrate from within themselves.
